audio, D-CAM is the best choice for your integrated and
hassle free solution.
The DCAM 500 and its comparison to the DCAM 800.
The main differences between the DCAM 500 and the DCAM 800 are:
- The DCAM 500 has a pinhole camera as
opposed to lens camera.
- The DCAM 500 has two separated dry
contacts (relays):
One dry contact is N.O. (Normally Open). It
can be used to activate a time-lapse recorder. This improvement
enables the recorder to capture relevant events during specific
periods of time. This enhancement replaces continuous,
uncontrolled recording over long periods, especially when no one
is in front of the camera.o:p>
To
record events smoothly, there is a user-adjustable timer,
programmable to keep the contact closed for periods between 10 and
100 seconds. The timer helps to avoid sudden disconnections, even
when the contact is closed for one or more consecutive time
periods.
The
N.O. contact can be enabled or disabled via a remote control
signal. The disable function is used to inhibit recording when the
alarm control panel is disarmed.
TIP: The "armed" control signal from the control
panel can be connected to this enable /disable input.
The
other dry contact is N.C. (normally closed), and is usually used
as a regular alarm PIR
detector output.
The
DCAM 500 has two separate external power supply connections; one
for the camera and the other for the PIR detector. This feature
enables use of the power supply from an alarm control panel (supplying power to the
PIR only) in
the DCAM.
- The DCAM 800 has a new dark semitransparent cover, thus giving
a better covert look to the camera. The dark cover is recommended
for the B/W cameras. Its use for color cameras is recommended
under
Benefits of the DCAM 500:
Connection
to a time -lapse recorder allows more efficient use of the tape,
since movement in front of the detector triggers the recording
process.
Using
the Alarm Control Panel replaces the need for a backup
battery.
The
camera has a more covert look.
Benefits of the DCAM 800:
Improved image quality.
More efficient in low light conditions.
Set up and connection are simpler than ever.
