What are the

What Hardware and Software is required to run
the Observer Monitoring Station on Win 98?
To run Observer on Windows 98 you will need the following:
- Standard sound card. (only if audio
transmitting is required)
- Standard Windows modem
for the NEG PSTN model or the 3Com U.S Robotics ISDN TA for
the NEG 128K ISDN model.
for NEG 64K model you can use any ISDN card
that support V.120
- Observer latest version, available on the Observer
download page.
- NetEye Series unit connected PSTN or ISDN
line, or GSM module.

What

To run Observer on Windows 2000 you will need the following:

that support V.120

I am dialing to the NetEye Gold unit and I get no
response.
If the NetEye Gold does not respond, please check the following:
- Check the unit is
installed on a line that had been tested and
approved.
- Check the power LED ,to see that the unit is working.
- Check the reset LED ,if it is blinking
constantly Orange, check that your modem is connected properly.
- Check proper connections of the modem cable.
- Check that you are
dialing the right number.
- Try to reset the NetEye Gold by clicking on
the reset button on the unit's board located
near the PCMCIA modem.
- Close the NetEye Gold Monitoring station,
Restart you PC and check the connection again.

I am connected to the NetEye Gold unit and there is no
audio signal?
If you cannot hear audio , please check the following:
- Check your audio settings with Speech Wizard.
- On the NetEye Gold Monitoring station go to
the setup dialog and make sure the Enable Audio
check box is checked.
- While you are connected to the unit, check
in the Observer remote settings the audio
parameters are set correctly.
- Check that your sound card is properly
installed.
- Check the Volume Control ,in windows ,to see that
the mute option is not checked.
- Check the your speakers function correctly.

How many frames can I store in the NetEye Gold?
The total number of frames that can be stored in the NetEye Gold unit
currently is 450 frames QCIF or CIF.

I have connected to NetEye Gold ,and there is no video?
If after you are connected you can't see the video
stream ,please check the following:
- Verify that your cameras are working
correctly by connecting them to an external
monitor.
- Check proper connection of the video signal cables to the cameras and the NetEye Gold
unit, connect external monitor to the unit's
analog LT output and check you can see the
connected cameras.
- Enter the Remote Settings, go to the Adapters/Video
tab, and check that all video parameters are
set correctly and the contrast slider is not
at it's minimum value, click on the Default
button upload your new settings and check
again.
- If not all cameras are connected, check that
you chose to view a camera which is connected
to the computer.

Will the NetEye Gold unit work in case of a power failure?
Yes ,it can!
You can connect to your NetEye Gold unit with a backup
battery , that will supply it's power during main
power failures.
A single battery of 12V 7A can supply
the NetEye Gold unit for 8 hours.

Can I connect to NetEye Gold through
LAN?
Currently NetEye Gold is not compatible with LAN or
Network connection.

What communication devices can I use with
the Observer?
For PSTN connection ,
any standard windows modem on the remote
site is compatible, internal or external.
For ISDN 128K connection, you'll need the 3Com
U.S Robotics ISDN TA external modem
for 128K connection.
For ISDN 64K connection, on the remote site you can
install any ISDN modem that support the V.120 protocols.
The NetEye Gold unit is also available with GSM
connection.

What
communication devices can I use with NetEye Gold?
The NetEye Gold unit, by design, is supplied
with the communication device required,
Such as modem or ISDN adaptor.
the NetEye Gold PSTN units can be supplied by demand
with Standard PCMCIA modem.
the NetEye Gold ISDN units can be supplied by
demand with for 64K and 128K connection supplied
with the 3Com U.S Robotics ISDN TA.

What is the default password for the NetEye Gold unit?
The Default user is admin
The default password is vc
Note that the password is case
sensitive.

Can I export recorded events to other playable formats?
Yes.
As a part of the security design of the
NetEye Gold product the recorded events are recorded and saved in
a unique format and can be played only with
NetEye Gold Monitoring Station player
With the latest Observer version, from the debriefer
you can choose to Export events in uncompressed
*.AVI format.
you
can also move recorded events to another PC running
Observer and open & play them using the Debriefer.

Can I run more then one
Observer sessions on the same PC simultaneously?
Only one connection at
a time is currently supported.
|

When opening
the Observer , an error message appears saying "error in opening wave device"?
If this error message appeared ,please check the following:
- Check that your sound card is properly
installed.
- Make sure the only application that uses the
sound card is the Observer.
Some applications ,such as Windows Media
Player can hold the sound card,
and will not allow the Observer to use it.

What
is the Speech Wizard?
Speech Wizard is an audio capture test application.
You will need to adjust the audio parameters only
when you want to use audio transmitting on the
remote site.
The Speech Wizard allows you to test the audio
capture device and adjust the audio parameters.
before running the Observer
connect MIC and speakers to the sound card on your
PC and run the speech wizard to adjust the audio
parameters. To run the speech wizard go to the
Observer installed directory and run the "SpeechW.exe"
file.
We recommend using Speech Wizard to test your sound
card's compatibility with the observer software, as part of the NetEye
Gold unit installation process.

I couldn't
find a recorded event when searching in the
debriefer.
After an event was recorded ,follow these steps to download it to your computer:
- Open the Debriefer.
- Go to the Alarms tab, located at the bottom.
- Double-click on the site name, where the event was recorded.
- Right-Click on the camera ,which recorded the picture. A menu will pop-up.
- In the menu, click on Synchronize.
- Double-Click on the event header to download the event to your
PC.
- After the download is
complete, double click on the event will open it
automatically.

Why can't I add more than one user with administrator privilege?
For security reasons ,we allow only one administrator for each
system but you can change the Administrator
password.
You can add up to 5 users including the
administrator.

Why
do I need a password to enter the Remote Settings,
if I already entered the site with another password?
For security reasons ,you have password
protection available for both local and remote
use.
The remote password (user and password window you get when you click to connect
to a site) is recorded on the NetEye
Gold unit ,preventing anyone without privileges to access the system. The local
user and password on the Observer side is designed to prevent anyone from entering and
changing remote settings parameters without privilege.
